Diamond in the Ruff

August 26th, 2011

Ever wonder where your diamonds came from? Africa? Russia? Brazil? Pomerania?

Chuck Roberts, a jeweler in Georgia, owns Honey Bun. She is a Pomeranian that often accompanies him to the store, greets customers who shower her with edible treats and, generally, is an ambassador of good will.

A couple of weeks ago Chuck had loose diamonds on his desk and was called away to help a customer. During his absence Honey Bun found a way onto the desk and snarfed up about $10,000 worth of jewels. Chuck, of course, ran the pom to the vet where x-rays showed only suspicious shadows.

The diamonds were retrieved the next day during Chuck’s daily pick-up session in his yard. He did what any good jeweler would do; he washed them off and returned them to his supplier.

Ohhh what a cutie! And great story, I have a neighbor who has a 10 week old boxer who ate her house keys, she looked everywhere for them and found them a couple days later in the yard.
